Scholarships and Prizes
The Francis Bacon MB Art Foundation and its founder, Majid Boustany, support research relating to Francis Bacon or in the fields of history of art, archaeology or museum studies, and early-career artists through a programme of scholarships and prizes developed in association with four distinguished institutions.
Villa Arson | Artist Support Scholarship
In 2017, the Francis Bacon MB Art Foundation entered into a partnership with the Villa Arson in Nice, a renowned contemporary art institute that is home to a national school of fine arts, a centre for contemporary art and a specialist library and hosts an artist’s residency, all on the same site.
Every other year, the Foundation awards a €10,000 scholarship to an artist who has graduated from the Villa Arson with a Diplôme national supérieur d’expression plastique (DNSEP) Master’s degree in painting or drawing.
This financial support provides vital help to young artists embarking on their professional lives and artistic careers.
The next young artist support scholarship is due to be awarded in 2025.
