Scholarships and Prizes

The Francis Bacon MB Art Foundation and its founder, Majid Boustany, support research relating to Francis Bacon or in the fields of history of art, archaeology or museum studies, and early-career artists through a programme of scholarships and prizes developed in association with four distinguished institutions.

University of Oxford | Graduate Scholarship

The Majid Boustany Oxford Graduate Scholarship is offered to talented students applying to study for a Master’s degree in History of Art and Visual Culture at the University of Oxford, with a specific focus on painting and/or drawing from 1900 to the present day. The scholarship recipients will be affiliated to Christ Church College.

The inaugural scholarship has been awarded for the 2025-26 academic year. A second scholarship will be available for the 2027-2028 academic year.

I am delighted to be joining forces with the University of Oxford to support talented graduate students researching modern and contemporary art. I hold this period of art history especially dear, and it is central to the mission of the Francis Bacon MB Art Foundation.
