The 2018 Artist Scholarship awarded by the Francis Bacon MB Art Foundation to Alexander Adams

The Foundation’s committee has decided to award its 2018 Artist Scholarship to the British artist Alexander Adams.

Born in London in 1973, he studied art at Goldsmiths College, London. He has lived in England, Spain and Germany and is now based in the United Kingdom.

Alexander Adams has exhibited his work worldwide. He abandoned colour in 1994 and has since gone on to exhibit his monochrome paintings around Europe. His art is in numerous public art collections throughout the world, including the UK, USA, Russia and Bulgaria.

Alexander Adams is also a writer and a poet. His art reviews have appeared in many British art journals including the Burlington Magazine, the British Art Journal and the Art Newspaper. He has also published three books of poetry.
