Mission

The Francis Bacon MB Art Foundation is a nonprofit organisation set up to promote a deeper understanding of Francis Bacon’s art, life and working methods through a number of activities.

Supporting research

The Francis Bacon MB Art Foundation and its founder support research relating to Francis Bacon, art history, archaeology and museum studies through scholarships programmes and prizes developed in association with four distinguished institutions. The Foundation also regularly collaborates with the Estate of Francis Bacon on new research projects.

Encouraging early-career artists

The Foundation offers funding to talented young artists through its its scholarships programmes.

Pursuing a regular acquisitions policy

Majid Boustany has a policy of steadily adding to his collection, entitled the MB Art Collection, through regular acquisitions. The Collection is located on the premises of the Foundation so that art historians and others can access this vital resource for research purposes.

Offering guided tours

The Foundation is open to art historians and other scholars and to exhibition curators throughout the year. It is also open to the public for free guided tours.

Taking part in exhibitions

The Foundation involves itself in most exhibitions featuring Francis Bacon, be they solo or group exhibitions, through loans of artworks or by providing support in the form of funding or expertise.

Supporting book publication and film production

The Foundation’s long-term approach has enabled it to establish itself as a leading book publisher and co-publisher and the main source of funding for books and documentaries about Francis Bacon and related topics.
