This book contains an essay on the transgression of reality in the work of Francis Bacon by Majid Boustany and a text entitled ‘Multiple States of Reality’, which takes the form of a remembered conversation with the artist, by Eddy Batache. The publication is dedicated to Majid Boustany’s very dear friend Eddy, who sadly passed away just as the book was being printed.
Eddy Batache was one of the people whose conversation Francis Bacon most enjoyed – a confidant and close ally who was among the few friends the painter trusted.
A French edition was also published under the title Francis Bacon, le réel mis à nu.
