Visiting
The Francis Bacon MB Art Foundation offers tours to members of the public by appointment only.
The Foundation is located on the ground floor of the Villa Élise, a Belle Époque house built in 1897. Guided tours take visitors on a journey through Francis Bacon’s art, life and creative process.
The moment they step inside, visitors are gripped by the intense atmosphere of an interior entirely filled with shards of Bacon’s life and art. As they move from room to room, they encounter paintings, prints, photographs, furniture, objects from the artist’s studios, letters and source material.
The tour is an immersion in Bacon’s world in which the viewer is brought face to face with the process of gestation of his compositions, his complex web of references and the very essence of his work. This journey into the entrails of a body of work whose blatant emotion leaves no one indifferent.
Free guided tours lasting about an hour and a half are offered for groups of up to six people. They take place every Tuesday and on the first Saturday of each month.
To book your visit, contact the Francis Bacon MB Art Foundation between 10.00 a.m. and 5.00 p.m. from Monday to Friday.
